We collect the following information when you create an account and use WavClip: full name and email address; profile photo (optional); city and country (required for interviewers); payment information processed by Stripe (we do not store card details directly); sample video clips uploaded by interviewers; order details, messages, and interaction history; device and usage data for analytics.
2. Why We Collect It
We use your data to: operate the platform and match clients with interviewers; process payments and payouts through Stripe; send transactional emails (order updates, payment notifications) via Resend; display interviewer profiles to potential clients; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations; improve platform features and performance.
3. Third-Party Services
WavClip uses the following third-party services that may receive your data: Supabase (database and authentication) — receives and stores account credentials, profile data, messages, and order information. Stripe (payments and payouts) — receives payment card information, bank account details for payouts, and transaction data. Stripe has its own Privacy Policy. Resend (email notifications) — receives your email address and notification content to deliver transactional emails. None of these services sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Order data, messages, and transaction records are retained for 7 years for legal and financial compliance. If you delete your account, personal profile data is anonymized within 30 days. Payment records required for tax compliance are retained for the legally required period.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to: access all data WavClip holds about you by emailing support@wavclip.com; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention requirements); export your data in a portable format; withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time. 6. Cookie Usage
WavClip uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Analytics data is collected in aggregated, anonymized form. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.
7. GDPR Compliance
For users in the European Economic Area, WavClip processes personal data on the legal bases of contract performance (to operate the platform) and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, platform improvement). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. WavClip's data processing is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
8. CCPA Compliance
For California residents, WavClip does not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of any future data sales. WavClip does not discriminate against users who exercise their CCPA rights.
9. Data Security
WavClip uses industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage of sensitive data, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@wavclip.com immediately.
